- My service would be used to solve the problem students have when they need to get around campus fast without hurting their
- My service is a transportation service much like Uber and Lyft, except it utilizes scooters rather than cars. The service would have drivers, mostly other students that own scooters, that pick up one student at a time and drives them to their destination. The service would only be available within the vicinity of college campuses. Since the farthest a driver would have to travel is a couple miles, there would always be drivers close to customers and would not take long to pick them up. Uber and Lyft have larger boundaries, so a driver that was 5 miles away could take long to pick up a customer. As well, since gas is cheaper for scooters and they would not be travelling far, the rides fares would be much cheaper than that of Uber and Lyft. Another advantage the scooters have over cars is that scooters are able to take roads that are blocked off from cars. The advantage the system has over buses is that the scooters would be able to directly drop them off at the destination rather than buses dropping them off at a bus stops.
Great idea! Students can earn extra money while helping other students out. To add more depth to your service maybe you could even have designated pick up and drop off spots. If you wanted to think even bigger you could even have a go kart service and contract it with the campus. Then you can pick up a couple of students at a time. Sounds like you have many possibilities for this service. You have a great start, I would keep expanding your ideas to not put all your eggs in one basket.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a really easy way to make people transport inside campus, but what about the security? Business laws sometimes state that if there is an injury in the job, they can sue to owner (you). I also did no know about this so always be sure to have limited liability. I understand that this would help people get faster to classes, but what would be the pay? I think that it is too simple to make people work as scooter drivers because the pay would not be enough.
